christerd Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Hi , I have a ribbon bar to a German Lt. He got a Bulgarian bravery order award with crown ? What kind of level could a Leutnant get? 4th class or 3rd and which one was awarded with crown Best regards from Christer
Theodor Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 The 4th class /on ribbon and pinback/ did not have a crown. The 3rd class on ribbon had a small crown. But I really doubt the Lt. would have it! No way IMO. Probably what he has is a Military Merit order. In times of war it was suspended on Bravery ribbon /the yellow-black ribbon was for peace times/.
christerd Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 Aha , Thanks Theodor A order of Merit would explain it What class do you think a Leutnant would get? Christer
hunyadi Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Theodor - Just out of curiosity? Is it more common to find the peacetime awards of the bravery? Also what is the possibility of a Captain having two 5th Class? One of them has the crown the other does not.
Theodor Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Sorry I did not understand you well, about what award is that? The Bravery orders were issued only in wartime, not in peace. If the question is about the Military merit, peace time/wartime, the wartime with green laurel and blue ribbon is very much less common than the peace time with no laurel and with yellow-black ribbon. Yes, I think it is possible. I have seen many times photos of officers with same class orders, but one with swords or with crown, it was common to wear both awards.
