OK, so here's the thing.... it's pretty hard to find Mongolian stuff other than a few select dealers. There's one guy flogging apparently every piece ever made in that country on eBay.... (part of the mint dump, I hear).... so is the Mongolian stuff as heavily reproduced as the Soviet??

    Thanks!

If you are reffering to the same guy (Pumbark?) I'm thinking of then he's not selling that much of the mint dumped pieces.

He actually drives his truck all over Mongolia's little vilages and buys this stuff right from the veteran or their family.

Hi Rusty, well that's pretty interesting and yes, that was the guy I was wondering about. He seems to have 99% of the the stuff on eBay. Some pretty outrageous pieces too. Anybody dealt with him?

    Rick,

I believe he does no reserve auctions and the market determines the price.

He's a very good seller and can get you anything for the right price.

My friend deals with him on a regular basis and most (99%) of his Mongolian items are direct dealings with him.

I myself have bought a few pieces for my collection from him.

    Rusty,

Nice to talk to you on this Forum for the 1st time, buddy

Actually this seller doesn't drive a truck but a very modern Toyota jeep (could post a pic but rather not) ;)

And he doesn't drive all over Mongolia's little villages buying stuff from the vets or their families, he has people doing that for him :P

He prefers to go fishing on the freezing rivers of Mongolia instead.

A large amount of his eBay stuff comes from the local Ulaanbaatar open market (bazar) that he visits in a very regular basis and from other local small dealers.

Correct: Pumbark = goldensq = goldensq976 = golden976 = ... more on this later - the recent eBay fraud has entirely unravelled. Have quite some facts to post which should act as a warning sign for frauders and for potential buyers.
