TerryG Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Could you please tell me what the medal in the centre is?
TerryG Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 and could anyone help with reading/translating this and in particular the name...?
Freiwillige Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 It seems to me this Oberst from the 10. (Sächs.) Infanterie-Regiment wears Saxonian Albrechtskreuz mit Schwertern. The photo has dedication on its back written in Paris on Christmas 1941.
TerryG Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 Paris hey? is that what it says? Thanks for that. I really cannot decipher these things. Any ideas about the name?
speedytop Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Hi Terry, Meinem lieben Entner zur Erinnerung an gemeinsam verlebte Tage. Paris, Weihnachten 1941 Wuttig, Hptm Hptm = Hauptmann = Captain I think, that he is of the Infanterieregiment 101, stationed in Sachsen. Uwe
TerryG Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 Many thanks Gents. Great to put a name to the face
Guest Rick Research Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 He's a Hauptmann dR from the double shoulder board underlay with regimental numbers. The only Wuttig on the published SA3bX roll was Lt dR Ernst Wuttig, who got his Albert 19.11.16 in 6th Artillery Munitions Column of the XIIth Army Corps. I can't imagine that could possibly have been him, so he must be among the 1918 recipients who were never gazetted.
