Noor Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Hi, Here is one nice ribbon bar what belonged to the capitan Tirso de La Cal Diez, who was Blue Division priest. Nice to see EK2 and Wintercampaign end of the bar. Actually it is my very FIRST bar where the EK is not in the first place! If anyone here knows more about Mr. Diez, please let me know.
Jacques Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Hello, nice ribbons bar. I don't have information about this priest, but concerning the ribbons, I guess it is normal to find the foreign decorations at the end. jacques
coldstream Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Noor A ridiculous question I'm sure but how was this medal bar affixed to the uniform, it appears to have no pin fixing...was it sewn directly to the uniform?
Noor Posted November 8, 2009 Author Posted November 8, 2009 (edited) There is two small plastic "pipes" on the bouth edges (those yellow-white ones). This period bars was attached to the uniform with the metal pins, throw those pipes. Uhh, I hope you can understand what I tried to say above Edited November 8, 2009 by Noor
coldstream Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Perfectly clear, many thanks Noor,
Dolfek Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Nice looking medal bar to a brave priest. I´m really surprised Highly decorated civil war and Blue Div. veteran, wounded in action, holder of the War Cross and six war military crosses ( 4 red and 2 white). And the Iron Cross 2nd of course. Impressive. What king of priest was he? The angel from Hell? Regards, Dolfek.
Vic Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 He was a brave man, in fact this is part of his group...
Panzerpionier Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Hi, Here is one nice ribbon bar what belonged to the capitan Tirso de La Cal Diez, who was Blue Division priest. Nice to see EK2 and Wintercampaign end of the bar. Actually it is my very FIRST bar where the EK is not in the first place! If anyone here knows more about Mr. Diez, please let me know. The two ribbons at the right on the lower row are those of the 1958 long service crosses for NCO's... http://www.coleccionesmilitares.com/medallas/texto/constancia.htm How could a guy who was a captain in the 1940's be awarded two crosses for NCO's that were created in 1958? The story behind your ribbon bar does not make sense to me. Best regards
Vic Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I dont try to convince you and I dont have any story with that. I only show the group as I bought it.
