Gordon Williamson
Hi Martin EK2 Cross of Honour Silesian Eagle 2 x Long Service Sudeten medal Memel Medal Saxon Zivilverdienstorden or Saxe-Coburg-Gotha Life Saving Medal ??? Feuerwehr Ehrenzeichen Not sure exactly what the Saxon one is , but exactly the same ribbon was used for the Saxon Fluthelferorden given to those who performed rescue work during the floods of 2002 Best ask on the Imperial Forums for confirmation of the one in Saxon colours. Martin W
Thanks Gordon, the ribbon bar belonged to Ulrich Brocksien, the Commander of the ill-fated second cruise of the Hilfskreuzer Komet. He went down with his ship on 14 Oct.1942 in the English Channel. Regards,Martin. Edited May 10, 2010 by Martin W

Martin W
Daniel, thank you for your input, much appreciated. Gordon, from what i know so far,the ribbon bar came from part of a grouping from the family.Unfortunately, the group was split up. I will be getting more detailed information in the next few days,i hope. Regards,Martin.
Martin W
2nd last is nothing Saxon. It is the Italian Messina Earthquake medal. Greetings Daniel Daniel, would this be the medal of 1908? After some searching i found that Brocksien was born in 1898.This would make him only 10 years old when the medal was introduced,if it was introduced in 1908? Regards,Martin.
