    FAMILIA COLONEL VASILIE IOAN.

    He is wearing the 1-2-3 Class of the Order of Military Merit

    and possibly the 1-2 Class Medal of Military Merit.

    As I noticed no dates on this stone,

    he might still be amongst the living or a Vampire :P

    some of his awards have a definate connection to the

    Romanian Royal Scouts Association.

    What a great source for photos of these gentlemen.

    I must admit that when I first read your topic I thought it was a joke of some sort and didn't read it until today.

    I'm glad I finally noticed the section you had it posted in (not the Lounge) and realized it was a serious post.

    Hallo Mike & Brian, :beer:

    I have found Romanian graveyards to be a great source of information, with regards military history, thanks to the tradition of putting pictures of the deceased on the headstones.

    This was my first visit to Bellu Cemetary in Bucharest, and I had no idea it would contain so much of interest, but, there are lots more pictures to come. :jumping:
