    1. For the moment unknown.

    2. Romanian Order of the Star of Romanian (Civil)

    3. Romanian Order of the Crown of Romania (Civil).

No. 1 could be the Greek Order of the Redeemer.

BELLU CEMETERY March 19th 2011 Visit:-

    Hallo Gents,

on March the 19th 2011 I had a quick visit to Bellu Cemetery, I did not get as long as I wanted, due to being at the Romanian Military Aviation Museum earlier in the day, however, I did locate and photograph some very nice monuments with pictures of eye-candy  and will be adding them here over the next few days.

    Starting with:-

    Left to right:

    Lt. Aviator Theodor Papastopol

    1897 - 1921

    Lt. Aviator Gh. Stalpeaiiu

    1896 - 1921

Possibly killed in the same incident.

BELLU CEMETERY March 19th 2011 Visit:-

    The inscription loosely translates to:-

    NICU T. HARITON

Lt. Reserve Reg 3 Heavy Artillery,

    Decorated with Commemorative Cross "Marasesti"

    Born 6 February 1895 - Died: 1 March 1919

He took an active part in the war for unifying the nation.

The medal appears to be an artistic rendition of the Romanian

Commemorative Cross of War with the "MARASESTI" battle bar.

Possibly the award came Postmortem and the family had it added

to the picture for the monument.

BELLU CEMETERY March 19th 2011 Visit:-

    Generalul NICOLAE MÀRÀSESCU

Knight of the Order of M. VITEAZU

    INVALID OF WAR.

Took part in the Campaigms of:-

    1877-78 (Independence War.)

    1913 (Balkan War.)

    1916-18 (First World War.)

Died on the 25th February 1934.

Now some of you might be scratching your heads with regards the picture

of the General, as clearly the pictures are missing from the monument.

However sometimes it pays to look at the back of the monuments:-

Looking at the uniform of Mr. VIRLAN I believe he was in Romanian Civil Aviation.
