Chris Boonzaier Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 A friend gave me this british fuze.... any idea if it was old stock being used in WW1? I cannot find it pictured anywhere ?
spotter Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 That looks like the fuze from a British 12 or 15lb shrapnel round,i will get more details later as all my files are at work. These were used in quantity during the south african wars and into early WW1.Replaced by the 13 and 18lber they were then mainly used for training in the uk
spotter Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Hello sorry been a while getting back to this.Anyway it looks like a british No60 fuze these were introduced to service in 1901 and obsolete in 1921.These were used on the 15lber ,having read my papers they did get sent to france but did not see action.hope this helps you...allan[attachmentid=37898]
