speagle
I recently posted this in another forum, but thought I'd add it here as it obviously better fits here. It is a reissue PH certificate my Dad received for wounds received in Viet Nam.

speagle
Hi, any idea of how he was wounded? best Chris Chris, Dad was a Platoon Sgt on patrol. There were ambushed by VC and was hit with a Claymore Mine metal ball. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M18_Claymore_anti-personnel_mine The ball entered his right leg just below his groin and exited out his right buttocks. He was air evaced by a Dust Off chopper. Came through Viet Nam OK.
Paul R
He was lucky to have a full recovery from that hit! Those Claymores are nasty weapons. What were his years of service?
