Yankee Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Hello ! So early XVIII century ? A 1st class knight cross ? First quarter 19th century. It is a knight 1st class. Very rare & fantastic condition considering the age. Great find Yankee
pinpon590 Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 Yes, of course XIXth century, not XVIII...
pinpon590 Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 Unfortunately, this cross is not mine... For the moment...
Yankee Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Unfortunately, this cross is not mine... For the moment... That is one you can't easily forget. Certainly worth pursuing. Good luck
saschaw Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Lovely, and probably from the ca. 1820s. To be acurate, it is not a "Knight's cross 1st class" but rather a "knight's cross", as there was no "knight's cross 2nd" class insituted up to 1866. Go for it!
