Picked up this pair today and need help to understand this soldier's position and also what badge is this? From collar tab?

Like I understand bouth are from 30s.... early WW2 period?

No text or stamp behind the picture.

Looks more like for a button hole in a civil jacket to me, with that fixing.

Can you give dimensions as it looks rather large for a collar tab.

Man on the picture is lieutenant. Picture is made between 1935-1943. Most likely first half.

But the Red Star badge is still mystery.... maybe someone knows. Maybe civilian who knows?

I did extra scan to show the size.

I am 99% sure that you are right on this. I just would like to know what this Red Star cap badge (or what ever it is) can be, period, etc? Or is it Russian at all, maybe some another communist block country?

I do not believe this kind a sets a long time anymore, if there isn't something what can approve it!
