Guest Rick Research Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Yes indeed, assignments and all-- we never get to see exactly what these specialists DID, or where and when!
douglynn Posted January 2, 2006 Author Posted January 2, 2006 ok few more bits what looks like payment of some kind and some promotion docs if you can help please do and i was wrong he was still in payment in 47
Guest Rick Research Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Yes, #6 concerns retroactive pay because of seniority.#7 promotes him from Flieger-Ingenieur to Flieger-Oberingenieur and is hand signed by Knight's Cross (18.9.41) winner Generaloberst (19.7.40) Hans-J?rgen "Stumpff" (1889-1968)#8 promotion from above to Flieger-Hauptingenieur-- the signature on this one eludes me at the moment, since Luftwaffe is not my best area. #9 concerns pay rates based on seniority in grade
douglynn Posted January 2, 2006 Author Posted January 2, 2006 thanks rick another question would he have ever been a flier on his collar tabbs he has propeler blades??thanks again for all the info on him
Guest Rick Research Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I've seen Honor Goblets awarded to officials in this technical corps, but he seems to have been in WHATEVER that flak-related organization was from 1938 to 1945.Now show us his award documents!
douglynn Posted January 2, 2006 Author Posted January 2, 2006 gonna make myself look such a fool here i thought that they where his award docs
Paul R Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Nothing foolish here! Very nice documentation grouping here. The first I have seen for an Engineer!Paul
Simon Orchard Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 What does the TLR mean in OKL chef TLR? some department of the OKL i would assume and whatever department it was he was then the Flak E2 officer (second engineering officer i guess, a staff position)

Simon Orchard Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 (edited) found it. OKL Chef TLR is Oberkommando der Luftwaffe, Chef der Technischen Luftr?stung. These fellas were the people involved in the development of new weapons and equipment. As he was in the Flak department that could mean some form of involvment in things like the V-1 and V-2 but also other equipment being developed for the flak arm.Great potential for further research there Doug, i know at least some TLR archives exist at the NARA archives in the US.Are there no decorations recorded in his SB? Not even a lowly KVK? Edited January 4, 2006 by Simon Orchard
