bmsm
I have had these French Beret Badges lying around for 10-15 years and had forgotten all about them so thought I'd post them on the Forum for others to see. I'm not positive all the information is 100% accurate but should be close. If anyone has more or better information, please feel free to post. Kev in Deva
Hallo Bob, Were they worn on the beret or on a leather fob on the shirt pocket? Kevin in Deva.
Paul L Murphy
These are unit pocket badges, not beret badges.
Bernhard H.Holst
Hello Bob: these are not beret insignias but unit crests/insignias and as Kevin alluded to were/are worn on the right shirt/tunic pocket. During my time in service at the F.F.L.(1951 - 1957) leather fobs were quite the rage. Easy to attach and always centered. As to the i.d.of the pictured items I cannot read them all. They are however of old vintage meaning some of the formations changed name or are no longer on the rolls ( such as the Legion airborne mortar company which was destroyed in Dien Bien Phu) I still believe these insignias to be valuable and certainly interesting to see several of them which make some memories come to mind once again. bmsm
Thanks for everyone's reply. When I collected them there wasn't a lot of information available but I got them for a little diversity and some of them are very well made and colorful. camerone54
Be aware that at least the Foreign Legion badges look like restrikes, except maybe for the 13e DBLE badge.

Bernhard H. Holst Yeah the 1er CPMLE was Erwan Bergot's Company. There were I think 3 Legion Heavy Mortar companies at DBP
bmsm
Thanks to all who made comments to my post.on the French Beret (Pocket) badges. I took them along to the Military Show in Mpls.-St. Paul, MN. two weeks ago and one guy bought them all. I wasn't sure if there was much call for them or not so was suprised when they sold so quickly. Bob

Yes, that was my first thought, it is the 13. DBLE. In France these pocket badges are called "pucelle".
