Robin Lumsden Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I finally managed to get this original photo from eBay. I first saw it many years ago, but someone else beat me to it then. It is one of the earliest photos (c. 1924) of the Wehrwolf flag being paraded.
Robin Lumsden Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 Here's a closer view of the flag. The armbands are early types..............before the woven version was produced. See how the flag party have steel helmets.
Robin Lumsden Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 The photo will go well with this flag I have..............exactly the same type.
dante Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 (edited) I crapped my pants.... wow:speechless1: Great photo knocks the spots of mine, well done Edited October 14, 2010 by dante
Robin Lumsden Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 Thanks. The top photo was taken before any of these regulation insignia appeared.................
Robin Lumsden Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 However, the men do appear to be wearing the little enamel membership badge on their tunics..................
Doc Wilson Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I have to admit I now realize I have only scratched the surface about the Freikorps. The only resources I have is the web and an osprey book. Can you recommend anything more in depth?
Robin Lumsden Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 (edited) The flag-bearer's gorget came later........... Edited October 14, 2010 by Robin Lumsden

Robin Lumsden Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Nice poster. It took me a while to find a flag nail and a membership book.............
Robin Lumsden Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 I won't bore you (again) with all the other stuff but, suffice it to say, all I really need to get now is a nice original Wehrwolf belt buckle. I know where they are............but the owners won't sell! Wise men.

Meanwhile, here's a nice Wehrwolf TK helmet photo that was sold recently by HH in Munich............... The Wehrwolf helmet in the photo is very impressive! Notice the Wehrwolf skull design with the bones behind the skull! Very rare, but maybe the helmet still out there....attic....Who knows? Edited October 16, 2010 by Sergeant 08
