I wanted to start some research about soviet parade daggers (Land-, Navy- and Air-Force dagger only)

In most cases on one side of the blade is the producer (ИМЗ, ZIK and Bulat) and the year of the production (1945 - 1991)

On the other side is a number. Is the number related to the dagger produced in this year or in total ? And is there a correlation between the numbers of the three daggers or they a seperatly counted?

Due to wearing regulations Navy daggers are most common one, than Land-Forces and AirForce daggers are the rarest ones.

    best regards and thanks

    Hi Alfred,

I have 4 pieces of Soviet Navy and 2 pieces of Soviet Air Force, all pre-1960. But only one of them has the mumbers and letters. It is Air Force ZIK 1951 / Π-N 434. Why the others are w/o any number or sigla?

    Regards,

    Zaim

I also saw some dagger without number and producing year, but aways with a producer mark like SIK.

I have no clue why are there no numbers. But maybe just forgotten.

Can you post some pictures of your daggers without numbers?

    best regards

    Hi all,

I have a navy 'Bulat' dagger here dated 1989 and a army ZIK dagger without a year. Are these combinations even possible?

    Thanks!

How many ribbons are in the state seal at the top of the dagger?

Does the dagger have a catch button?

    best regards
