Lukasz Gaszewski Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Roter-Adler-Orden or Kronenorden 3rd or 4th class f. war merit?
Naxos Posted January 14, 2011 Author Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) Most likely - However, if there would be a crown ... . ... was thinking along these lines as another possibility Edited January 14, 2011 by Naxos
Eric Stahlhut Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 it certainly is a possibility. i remember posting a similar example years ago ( except mine is backed in red felt and doesn't have a pin-it was worn buttonhole style on a tunic) and the general consensus was that it may have been for a hohenzollern order. it too was missing the crown, but there are holes in the ribbon that indicate a separate crown above the swords. it either fell off or was removed after abdication. nice piece, btw!
saschaw Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Especially in WW1 and early post-WW1 era, we see ribbons for the HOH3X with swords but no crown, so that does not exclude it.
