Christian L Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 for an unknown reason i have this ribbonbar for attaching the award on the hook on the reverse - but what let me think a bit, was, which decorations could have been there in "former" times?it have to be something inofficial (freikorps, regimental commemoration ... )thanks much in advance christian
David Gregory Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Christian,I have one like this and a green/white one on a triangular backing plate. I have always assumed they are for (former) Prussian and Saxon veterans associations.David
Chris Taylor Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 I too had a piece of this black & white ribbon which I could never definitely identify.Like David said, I always assumed it to be for some type of Prussian veterans assocation award.
Stogieman Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 I would agree, most likely a Prussian veteran's organization of some type. Unusual mounting, normally you see this ribbon dangling down from the badge.
HeikoGrusdat Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Hi Christian, your ribbon is for the 100 year regimental medal 1813-1913 of the Regiment von L?tzow.greetingsHeiko
Stogieman Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Thanks Heiko! This is the ribbon I was thinking of:
HeikoGrusdat Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Hi Rick, I know what you were talking about but these vets organizations ribbons were NOT for medal bars, mostly they had some unit info or the name of the warriors club printed on the ribbon. The black/white on your piece is from prussia, same is from baden in red/yellow, from w?rttemberg in red/black and so on...
