Jim Baker Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Here's a lucky find from over the holiday!! Cheap!!
Bob Hunter Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Jim, how many variations of that armor sleeve insignia are in your collection? Any idea of what the total number available?
Jim Baker Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 Bob,I only have two V Corps. Here is the other. I think the "thin" numeral above is an earlier variant. The V Corps never came to be. It was anticipated and patches were made.....but.
Jim Baker Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 Bob,I'm not sure I understand your question, but here are my Corps patches. I'd love to get my mits on an original XVIII Corps. Sorry about the crappy photo.
Paul R Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Very nice collection! How many do you have in total?Paul
Jim Baker Posted January 13, 2006 Author Posted January 13, 2006 Hi Paul,Thanks. I'd have to go through and count them up. I have most of the common armor patches and some battalion patches. I'm starting to collect the Infantry patches now. Here is one I really like that you don't see too often. The 101st Infantry before they were airborne.
Paul R Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Jim,I have never seen that first 101st patch before!! WOW! What time period were these worn?
Jim Baker Posted January 14, 2006 Author Posted January 14, 2006 Hi Paul,I believe in the late 30's - early 40's. Maybe someone else knows for sure.
Jim Baker Posted February 7, 2006 Author Posted February 7, 2006 Another eBay bargain. 741st TB in greenback. Only one I've ever seen.
