drclaw Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Order of Medjidie, Third Class, that arrived today. Sent to me by my new friend Mr Avsar Ibar from Istanbul (www.avsaribar.com). I'm really enjoying the variations in design between different periods and different makers. Makes collecting these a fascinating hobby. Gavin
paul wood Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 beautiful. so which period is this one from? Is the reverse plate marked in any way? Paul
drclaw Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 Yes, small mint mark and I am guessing it is early 20th century from the overall design of the medal. But I'm still expanding my knowledge base on these orders so I can't say that with any authority.

drclaw Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 Lovely Lambert! Could you show us a photo of the obverse? If it is in the same condition as the reverse, it will be stunning.
lambert Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Hello Gavin. These are the photos you requested. I have more on my website. http://medalhasdeguerra.blogspot.com/2011/02/ordem-da-osmani-medjidie.html graciously Lambert
