Robert Smith Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 There was a St. George Medal for Prussians who served in Russia during the Napoleonic Wars so it is possible there was one for other nations as well. larsb001 Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 (edited) Hello Goetsi. I cannot help with your question but I am a little curious. I understand these are miniatures, can I have the sizes please. Although I have seen alot of these St. Georg crosses and have a few myself I have never seen a numbered miniature. The recipient must have been quite happy with these as he had the number engraved. I just want to understad if these are actual miniatures or princely sizes? Regards, Lars Edited July 1, 2011 by larsb001
Noor Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Based on material what I have saved, I can only add that this cross was probably awarded around end 1813/early 1814.
Iver Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Here is a link to a little article about this wonderfull miniature from our colegue Goetsi: http://forum.valka.cz/viewtopic.php/title/Armadni-kriz-1813-14-Delovy-kriz/p/404634#404634 ...there is a flag, when you click on it, you can choose a language for translation.. the translation is not perfect, but it is readable :D
