Chris Boonzaier Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Was glad to get these :-))) Amongst my favourite units are the Infantry of the 10 R.D. who fought a lot at Verdun.... Here the 37th Füsiliers...
Brian Wolfe Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I can see why you would be glad to get them, dosen't look like there are any condition issues either. Thanks for posting them Chris. Regards Brian
Chris Boonzaier Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 Yes, but they are pre-war... I know, but they will do until I find some field grey :-) I justify buying them to myself with the thought that back at their home town they still wore them during the war. Best Chris
Chip Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 (edited) Chris, What material is on the reverse? Chip Edited September 16, 2011 by Chip
Chris Boonzaier Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 Hi Chip, Same Yellow as on the front. Best Chris
Chip Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Chris, You don't see that very often. 99% of the time, the backing is in the same material as the tunic or coat. But since they are private purchase examples, it is of no concern. Chip

Best Chris With some of my shoulder straps, I have tried to get the Feldgrau and pre-war ones and display them together in the same frame. It looks pretty neat on my wall. ostprussenmann

Chris Boonzaier Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 I found this interesting.... look how the guy on the left just slips the straps under the loops on the tunic, not sewn at all...
Chris Boonzaier Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 Here we have under the loops, on the loops, and without loops....
Chip Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 The Schlaufen were not authorized for the Bluse until November of 1916, so you will see the tunics both with and without them, depending on when they were manufactured. Chip
