Lately I find an interesting variation of type 3 (Showa epoch) badge. We will call this new type - type 3.1 and the old type 3 (that was shown in posts #11 and #12) type 3.2.

Here it is.

There are numerous differences

We will start with the most prominent.

First it is flags.

Please note the position of the ray - in case of type 3.1 (it is on the left) the ray is at the perimeter of the ring and in case of type 3.2 it is actually part of the ring
