Hi,

I remember some time back ( Rick was still on the forum) a discussion on the Bavarian MVO lower cross arm. Some MVO's have a "thicker" metal edge around just the lower arm, while some do not. I remember something about the differences being in wether or not one type was issued verses private purchase. I tried searching, but can't locate this thread. If someone remembers, could you please refresh my memory?

I can't find the specific thread, but my understanding/recollection is that the thicker edge was on those wartime/late-war pieces which no longer had real gold on the center medallions, but silver-gilt.
