Andrew Harris Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Hello, guys. Could you help me to identify this order? The whole portrait will be showed after it will arrive to me (it is on the way). Form of a cross similar to the form of the Greek Order of the Phoenix. Portrait is dated 1936 year. Also the person on the portrait wears Gallipoli Star (may it will help). Thanks in advance! Greetings, Rostyslav.
Andrew Harris Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 Medal bar: 1. Iron Cross II Class 1914 2. ??? 3. Cross of Honour 1914-18 4. ??? 5. Italy. Order of the Crown V Class (Knight) Could you help me to translate text on the reverse & identify monogram on the medallion?
Ulsterman Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 In remembrance of the ....Field-exercise?.......signature.....7.10. 1936. I think this is the Coburg shooting-King prize (Schuetzen-medalle). I reckon this guy was in the Marksmanship/shooting club and wore his prizes as a one off portrait. That medal bar is delicious. Andrew- NICE collection.
Dave Danner Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Medal bar: 1. Iron Cross II Class 1914 2. ??? 3. Cross of Honour 1914-18 4. ??? 5. Italy. Order of the Crown V Class (Knight) #2 appears to be the Hesse General Honor Decoration "For Bravery". #4 appears to be the Sachsen-Altenburg Herzog Ernst Medaille?
