Richarddwh
I acquired this medallion recently along with some WHW tinnies. Any ideas as to what it might be? My best guess is some kind of WHW medallion commemorating the 1936 Olympics, with space to complete your own name perhaps.

Paul R
Wow! That is something I have never seen before. IT is not tied to the military at all though.
speedytop
I think, that it is for local sport events in 1935/1936, with space to complete the name of the winners. uwe
Mervyn Mitton
It is not one of the main medals - or, the one given to team members. However, it does appear to show the Olympic Bell and has the correct date. Perhaps it is, as Uwe suggests - for a smaller event which wanted to link itself to the major event ? Richarddwh
Thanks gents for the comments. Uwe, I think you are correct. I think all the minor athletics events in the year and months preceding the 1936 Games would have buoyed with anticipation prior the OIympics. I quite like it. Richarddwh
Nice to have the engraving, looks to be long service related with the 25 Jahre. Yours is the first other of these I've seen.
