one simple ribbon bar - but I like it :)

    Recommended Posts

    Hi all,

It has been a long time when I last posted here. Anyway, last week I spotted one small interesting bar on sale and I bought it because the price was more then right (1 euro). The one what I found is very good quality plastic bar.

Like I understand this bar consist:

    - For the Defence of the Soviet Transartic (1944)

    - For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 (1945)

    - Twenty Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 (1965)

    - 50 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR (1967)

I presume it is made around end of 60s or early 70s. I am totally off from sew-in Soviet era bars. There is plenty of amazing sets on the market and as well standart rack bars each of us can build together - one looks braver soldier then other.

But this kind a semi-official or almost "home made" sets I find has much more character and also there is some bigger chance to be original. Especially when they miss high end stuff and there is not much "bling bling" set together.

To me this set looks interesting because there is only one campaign medal and rest of the stuff is post war. Meantime last award shows that the owner was still in active service in 1967. Some army distric official perhaps? Maybe (s)he didn't worn his Red Star(s), etc on the ribbon bar and they were on the uniform instead?

Have any of you came accross something similar?

    Regards,

    Timo aka Noor
