Good day, I could use some help here in correctly ID this fragment of badge found.

I believe it's from the kingdom of Yugoslavia, but I would like to know if anyone would have used also till the war end.

    Many thanks

    Hi there Matt,

looks like a ground find, yes indeed it's from the Kingdom of Yugoslavia period, NCO cap badge part, that was used to be in wear from Chetnik warriors during WW2.

    Pity its not complete..... :(

Hello Emanuel, thanks for your confirmation!

Yep it is ground dug, from a war end retreat area where also croatian stuff was found and POW crossed too. It is then most likely a discarded badge from a chetnik, I guess. Kind regards

If its a ground find from that area, then its most likely a badge that was on wear from Chetnik warriors that made a breakthrough and retreat from Croatia and Slovenia to Italy.

Battles occur during that retreat,so your guess is right.

I had a complete one in perfect condition with red cloth (infantry) on a NCO field green cap,but I pass it to a friend.

Hope in time ,you will share more of your finds ;)

Hi Lightfoot, the picture you attached is a different model of the NCO cap badge. It can be seen by how close the eagles beak is to the wing tip (I have the same badge). The book "Oznake jugoslovenske vojske u otazbini" by Branko Jeftic is an excellent reference for the topic.

Got that book but it´s a shame that the writer didn´t write explanations under the pictures in the book.

The difference in style is because these were produced in different work shops. Emblem without the background and cloth in colour of arms of service, is not a type, it is a badge with missing part.
