Iver Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 ...I have bought this case, but not sure for wich order its made... Measures - case: cca 110x62x17mm - cross: cca 54x38mm ..any idea? The case seems to be austro-hungarian made, maybe some german order (maltese cross, maybe crown over it)...
Iver Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 ...no ideas which order this case belong to? here one more photo to see the shape of the award...
paul wood Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I think it is a custom made case. The only order that springs to mind that could fit it is a knight's badge of the Hannoverian Guelphic order (post 1837 type issued up until 1866) maybe some other members will have better ideas, certainly does not look Austrian. Elmar Lang Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) Hello,in my opinion, that case could be fitted for the Montenegrinian Obiteljeski Orden Svetog Petra (or Family Order of St. Peter).E.L. Edited May 23, 2013 by Elmar Lang
paul wood Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I am sure you are right, being such an unbelievably rare order it had never slipped into my mind, but looking at an image of the order and the case it makes sense. Paul
Iver Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) Thanks for your opinions, I am afraid that the only possibilty to find out if its really this one, is to try to fit in a real decoration.... what is in this case unpossible but.. i am not sure, think Order of St. Peter is 43mm sized, so a bit too big for this case... (54x38mm) Edited May 24, 2013 by Iver
