I have seen a thread about Iron Meteorites in Lounge, but I think it will be more appropriate to post abut it here.

Well, I just have this one, Campo del Cielo Iron meteorite, about 448grams

Very interesting Windu - yes the Lounge article covered a number of items - but they get covered so quickly

that I agree with you that a dedicated thread is better off here.

How big was this meteorite - it must have been split-up and given,or, sold to residents ?

Many Countries claim them for their museums - however, I have seen them come-up at US auctions and they fetch

This iron meteorite is small, but it weigh about 448grams and haven't been splitted by man, it comes as it seen..

-aah, it was either splitted by atmosfer or ground when it came to earth-

Paul - to find them you need a good metal detector - and an even better digger.

Perhaps your wife will 'volunteer' as she likes gardening ? Mervyn
