Me interest information about fire service medals of different countryes of world. Who have it medals?

I can contribute with a complete set of medals from Denmark.

From left to right:

- Copenhagen Fire Brigade long service medal (inst. 1903)

- The County Towns' Fire Brigade long service medal (inst. 1906 - now obsolete)

- Long service medal for the Fire Brigades in the country (inst. 1928 - now obsolete)

- Frederiksberg Fire Brigade long service medal (inst. 1926)

- The Fire Brigade long service medal (inst. 1973)

I can also contribute with a Belgian set.

Saved this set of photographs of being sold separately from the medals at a car booth sale. The guy in the frame, is the same one as on the 19 th century pic's. I would love to have the helmet!!

Belgium:

Civil Decoration for Long Service in the "Pompiers et Garde Civile" of Leopold II.

1st class Cross.

2nd class cross. The difference in ribbons is due to manufacture differences.

I don't have a Gold cross medal so next in line is the Silver medal

Bronze medal. These medal were awarded after a minimum of 25 years service and the level of award depended on the recipients rank at the time of award.

Thankyou all for adding to this thread. Fire and Ambulance are often the forgotten services - which is unfortunate. I think

it strange that the British Brigades have not featured - they have a wealth of different medals.

We must not overlook the uniforms and equipment that was in use in the past - and now. The old Brass helmets are always

worth a picture. Mervyn
