JapanX Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 Now it is obvious for me that somebody for whatever reason doctored the original bronze medal. To apply silver, zink, etc., he or she unclenched the tab. Recleching created these two "worn" sports and slightly deformed the tab itself.
JapanX Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 I wonder who, when and what for did that ...
Dieter3 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Yeah, look at the one back in the post #95 - same thing with the grip - clearly off center, not quite right. I think we must conclude that these were not manufactured this way and done after the fact. But you are right - the who, the when, and the why! Hmmm.....
JapanX Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 ... But you are right - the who, the when, and the why! Hmmm..... Another MYSTERY!? Or maybe they simply manufactured these two pieces for sucker`s like me
fukuoka Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Now even with the silvered bar ... That`s not funny at all I just purchased this very medal and it is 100% bronze. The lighting of the camera caused it to look silver.

JapanX Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Interesting box with inlay I wonder what inscription says
Dieter3 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Interesting box with inlay I wonder what inscription says Something to the meaning "Made by Ohashi for the Japan Red Cross". Rich could probably provide a better, more accurate translation. 1st Line - Japan Red Cross, that's the easy one! Second line "Goyou" - having the meaning of "contract" in some context. 3rd Line the Tokyo location, 4th line company name, and made (by). I'm assuming the medal was made by Ohashi, maybe medal and box? Notice the edges - just like all of the basic membership medal lapel pins that still are attached to their paper backings - reminds of stamps - like these are made on a big sheet for easy separation.
