JapanX Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 This is navy equivalent of army sharpshooting badge. It has only one class. Introduced on September 8, 1911
jshorter Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Hi Nick! Thanks for the info!! Every one that I've seen seems to be of some age, so I assume they were no longer awarded after a period of time (end of WWII?). Do we know if that is the case? Also, can you tell me what the reverse says? Finally, you know what the next two questions are going to be... Thanks a bunch again! Jason

jshorter Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Thanks again, Nick! Were these worn on the uniforms as the other proficiency badges? I haven't seen any photos with them being worn... Jason
JapanX Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) Since this is navy badge - it should be worn under right pocket (or simply lower right part of uniform). But you are right about photos - no evidence in sight I suspect that this badge was cancelled somewhere around 20s ... Edited November 18, 2013 by JapanX
