Here is my old hat badge as an example, this one was issued to me in 1971. Modern examples are made of light alloys. peter monahan Posted November 7, 2012 Share Posted November 7, 2012 Its an easy ID for Canadians, Mervyn, as even squaddies can count the number of regular force infantry units Canada has without taking their boots off. "Small but mighty" should be one of our mottoes, as the vast majority of our forces are Militia, though many of them regularly volunteer for active service in places like Afghanistan and on peacekeeping.
