Soviet Exellent Air Fighter Badge: Myth or Reality?

Only fakes (or, if you wish, replicas)...

Some say that this badge is pure fantasy and was created as specially priced piece for american collector in late 90s ...

Others that this is the rarest soviet military badge ...

By the way, the piece in the Avers #8 most likely is fake too :lol:

According to one source this badge was created by the RVS Order # 15 on January 20, 1928.

The badge was issued for "special achievements in combat training"

The badge awarded to formation commanders was in gold gilt.

So far one has not crossed the threshold of my humble originisation. However considering many of our vendors are quite happy to slip in the odd fake badge with some genuine ones (and I doubt unwittingly). I anticipate at some time that one of these beauties will rear its ugly head.
