The Prussian Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) Hello friends! I´ve recieved a few photos from the Feldartillerie-Regiment 43. Does someone have a clue, what we see here??? Probably it has something to do with a cable winch (maybe for balloon troops). Could that be right? Note the circle in the second photo, on which the "thing" stands to turn round and round. coldstream Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Never seen anything like this but there appear to be three 'bombs' or 'shells mounted in some form of cage to the top of this contraption, an improvised bomb thrower or form of spigot mortar? Can't see why a balloon cable would have these or the need for such an ability to traverse the base. Regards Simon
dond Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Looks more like sound detection/tracking equipment.
IrishGunner Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Looks more like sound detection/tracking equipment. Very plausible thought... That's where I'd place my bet.
