EK 1939 EK1 From the Ashes

A local Antique Dealer bought this from (literally) a Fire sale ..the rest of the Militaria they had was burned & tossed out ..but they saved this because of the Swas ...it cost me a whole $10 !

Now that I've hit this end of the spectrum ....I really hope the next one I find is in good shape (ugh)

I can't figure out the deal with that catch either ...strange

Looks like it got hot enught to melt the solder between halves of the frame but not hot enough to damage the silver frame itself. The cross represents a good definition of "salty." Interesting piece.
