Chris Boonzaier Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Sorry... pardon the pun... Marching songs in the foreign legion are really part of the tradition.... often accompanied by cursing and punishment... only once in 5 years was I part of a company that once sang a song so perfectly that you could feel the guys thinking " me... this is perfect"... and folks all over the parade ground turned to watch us march by... This is not perfect... but really, really nice...
Bison Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 "Le coeur joyeux et l'âme légère, Suis ta route, sans peur de tomber, avec honneur et fidélité" I recognise this place, this is Bonifacio, and probably the 2 REI. Songs of the Foreign Légion are still echoing over there.
Chris Boonzaier Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Hi Bison, yup, 2 REI, but before my time... this was in 1972. Some of the Legion songs on youtube have been done by a choir and are nowhere near as "good" as when sung by a compagnie... Here is one of my all time favourites.... not only a legion song...
Chris Boonzaier Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 many French units have great marching songs... it is not only a legion thing.... this one is great as well....
Chris Boonzaier Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 I have no idea what language this is.. but the French 110th Infantry regiment has a fantastic song !!
