Stogieman Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 (edited) Most of these are to "privates" (partisan) fighters. Occasionally a more interesting one comes up. This one is to: Viktor Stepanovich Shimuk Issued by Kobrynski Raion (small district) 16 December, 1975 (most were issued in 1969) Comrade Shimuk was a Deputy Platoon (OTRYAD) Commander for Reconnaisance Platoon of The Unit "In The Name of Panfilov" in the Brigade "In The Name of Chapaev" from 10 October 1943 through July 1944. Very unusual to find this type of specific unit naming or a unit commander! (never mind from Recon) The other interesting point is the document is stamped "Badge Issued" What badge? (???????) anyone have a clue? Edited April 12, 2013 by Stogieman
Aurelius Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) Nice one-rare and ultra cool-recon. Not sure on the badge. There is a 1985 OPW2 on Podvignaroda with his name. Could be his. Edited April 17, 2013 by Aurelius
