hucks216 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Makes you wonder how well preserved the body was if they used a tattoo to identify him. After 66 years in the ground you would of thought that all that remained was the skeleton.
Laurence Strong Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Thought crossed my mind as well...... Larry
Martin W Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I beleive they also identified him by the dog tag they found. Regards,Martin.
Laurence Strong Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) Makes you wonder how well preserved the body was if they used a tattoo to identify him. After 66 years in the ground you would of thought that all that remained was the skeleton. True, and as previously stated I also thought about that question. However upon further reflection a body can last for quite some time if the ground conditions (low to no oxygen, wet, acidic etc) are right. Not that it would be a pretty sight though. A good case in point would be the neolithic corpses pulled from peat bogs... I beleive they also identified him by the dog tag they found. Regards,Martin. Hello Martin Is that Kurt Knispel's Erkennungsmarke? Larry Edited April 27, 2013 by Laurence Strong
