Polizei Polizei SS tunic runes... ?

Be kind to me! Among the MANY things I know absolutely nothing about is SS insignia. Actuallyassuming that this actually IS realthis would be a POLICE insignia, as worn below the left pocket to indicate full equivalent membership in the Allgemeine-SS.

I havent gotten out much and this happened to turn up. It looks odd to me, with the reinforced edging

But from miniscule B&W photos and the fact that is both very definitely correct police green and (my general Rule Of Fakes) I have never seen another one floating around

IS this real? If not, what does a real one look like, and how many of THIS thing are out there?

Im still offline, but have my computomasheen back after 5 months and can scan again.

I have not seen any made in this manner. The embroidery quality really stinks. I dont have much hope for this one.
