Does anyone know, by an off chance.... who commanded the 7th Company of the RIR263 at the formation of the regiment.

I think it may have been a Lt. d. Res.

Oberleutnant Redlich was in charge of 7/RIR 263 on 2/2/1915, when the regiment went to the front.

thanks for the info. Any idea of when he was promoted ObLt?

I am getting some Lt Boards to 263 with a dog tag RIR263 7.Komp with the guys company number being 1... there is a chance that they do not belong together, but I think they do, they are not coming from a militaia source....

Here you go.... I am assuming it cannot be the Olt.

The dog tag is other ranks.... but it IS "1" so maybe the ranking NCO of the company at its formation? With a later promotion to Lt d. Res?

With those boards, he would have to have been promoted during the first year of the war.
