larsb001 Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Hello, could one of our British experts please tell me exactly what it is that I have here. I know it's not official, but is it masonic related or something else? And also, could any of you describe what a "Warrant Holder" is, using a Dictionary for translation doesn't really help me alot? Thank you, Lars
paul wood Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 The Royal Warrant holder's medal is basically given to those who provide goods and services to the Royal Family and Royal Household so for example if you buy a packet of biscuits and it has the Royal Coat of Arms and by appointment to her majesty the Queen etc etc, then the biscuit company are Royal Warrant Holders. I have seen Royal Warrant Holders Medal from various reigns from Victoria onwards. The rarest is the Edward VIII Royal Warrant Holders Medal of which a relatively small number were issued.Paul
larsb001 Posted July 25, 2013 Author Posted July 25, 2013 Hello Paul. Thank you for all the information, now I understand what this is and the basic concept. Lars
larsb001 Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 I actually bought them as miniatures, because this is what I collect, but the larger one is definitely full size. Lars
