IrishGunner
tut tut... I had you pegged for the generation where not every participant gets a prize? :-) Touche. My kids still hear this from me when they "whine" about something: "Life stopped being fair when you stopped playing T-ball." (T-ball = American game for kids ages 4-6 just learning to play baseball. Hit the ball off of a tee; everyone hits, no outs, everyone scores.)

Hoss
Hoss to the rescue: The B-stoff grenade was made of 2 sheet steel halves put together around a porcelain inner body. A paper filling in between damped the shocks during transport. This smoke grenade was filled with a toxic fluid which reacted with air and produced a thick white cloud. The fuze was the brass type as used on the 1913 kugelgrenade which ignited a black powder charge that shattered the body.Diameter 100mm.

Chris Boonzaier
Indded... Hoss nails it. I have only seen one (this one) although a german dealer has one. He lists it as a Blitzhandgranate or Nebelhandgranate.... according to his description used by assault troops. I dont know how accurate that is as this seems to be very early war, predating assault troops. best Chris
