Not a masonic item I have ever seen, however in esoteric thought both the skull and laurel leaves figure heavily, could be one of the hundreds of secret organisations that came out of Europe from the 1600's to present day...that said wonderful piece!!

I've seen similar Robin but they TR with wood handles what makes you think it isn't Third Reich?

Now I have the item in hand, the handle is actually real bone, not wood.

Looks like an animal bone of some kind.

I think it's just some sort of 'memento mori / vanitas' item.
