Unidentified Infanterie-Geschütz-Batterie 21 pass

Little help needed with this one, have just read "German Assault Troops of World War 1 by Wictor which gives a good description of the work of the Infanterie-Geschütz-Batterie's in the field as an ex gunner what a job hauling the guns under fire to engage in open sights across no mans land.......

I cannot read his name, but his previous service with Feld-Artillerie-Regiment von Holtzendorff (1. Rheinisches) Nr.8 would have given him great technical know how........has anyone details on Infanterie-Geschütz-Batterie 21 and if mentioned in any period books, many thanks, Paul

Name is: Wilhelm Häseler

In late spring/summer of 1917 Nahkampf-Batterien were renamed Infanterie-Geschütz-Batterien.

Fifty NKB were created in January 1917 numbered 201 to 250 - These were renamed in May/June 1917 to IGB and numbered 1 to 50

I'd love to see Handbuch in English. Don't know why they didn't translate it.

I assume, it´s not too difficulty to understand it. 60% of the book are numbers like dates or units. 80% are words with understandable roots, like Armee (army), Div. (Division), Korps (corps).

In each book are tables of abbreviations. Most of the words are understandable for military research. Some special words of the german army one can´t translate in engish, because it would lose his sense.

I have sent them an email regarding translation of the books.

I think that it should not be an exceptional effort to have it done as like you said- there isn't much text that would require special knowledge.
