    ... just arrived today.

Really expensive for a wound badge, and well meaning person glued it to a heavy board.... but he design in nice, and the unite veeeeery interesting....

The Infanterie Stabswache of his Majesty the Kaiser, provided protection and ceremonial Gaurds for his HQ.

I am not sure where and when Friedrich Tiemann was wounded, he was probably posted to the Stabswache some time after his wound.

    A really cool doc IMHO

Chris, very nice, had a look for the artist, but nothing found, wonder who awarded the certificate and badge? the person who signed it?

    Hi,

often award documents were designed by soldiers who were gifted hobby artists. I think it is Freiherr von Münchhausen who signed it.

Unfortunately it is not possible to see which Friedrich Thiemann he is, there are a few on the wound lists, so no idea which previous unit and where he was wounded.

Freiherr von Münchhausen appears to have been wounded with the Guards in 1915...maybe brought some of his men with him?

Freiherr von Münchhausen is Leopold Karl Ernst, *1872, diensttuender Flügeladjutant S.M. des Kaisers und Königs. He was severely wounded in October 1914 with Garde-MG-Abt. Nr. 1.

There are around 40 Friedrich Tiemann's in the casualty lists. Almost all are from Westphalia or the Osnabrücker Land.
