The recipient was a private serving as a reconnaissance scout in a cavalry regiment subordinate to a cavalry division assigned to 5th Guards Cavalry Corps, 3rd Ukrainian Front when recommended for his final Order of Glory. Mistakenly awarded two Orders of Glory Second Class during the war, the oversight was finally corrected in September 1969 when this OGI was awarded. His two Orders of Glory Second Class were awarded for valor in action in Hungary in the final quarter of 1944. Of note, he marched in the June 24, 1945, Victory Parade on Red Square. He was also awarded an ORS during the war. This dealer last sold this same OGI in December 2005 for $5,600.00. Regards, slava1stclass Gents, Over the past year there has not been much action. Few new offerings have surfaced. The limited items that remain available (like the above example) have not had their asking prices lowered. The market is flat at the moment. Regards, slava1stclass
