JapanX Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 2nd class badge Same story as with 1st class - zillion mini variations Nice example
JapanX Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 An interesting variation of 2nd class from my collection
JapanX Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 That`s what happening when somebody don`t know how to solder
JapanX Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 See how different they are? Guess my badge is an earlier one
JapanX Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Another variation (with silvered reverse) Helmet looks familiar Probably this piece and badge in post #22 were was manufactured by the same workshop
JapanX Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 But kanji on reverse are not embossed as kanji of badge in post #22 + no kanji on the left
JapanX Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 It looks like in 1940 regulation for these badges was changed. Two classes of this late badges are known. Both classes have no insciption on reverse and have simplified color schemes: plain copper and plain silver. Let`s take a look at them. Later badges "Copper badge" Nice example
JapanX Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Usually these badges are found in green boxes like this one
JapanX Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 That`s it for today! If you have these badges in your collection (any additional information about them) - please post them (it) here. Nick
