dond Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Who was the Regimental Commander at the start of the war? The unit history says it was Oberst v. Lind and normally I would go with that but the CDR was wounded in late August (officially replaced 1 Sep) so he does not feature much in the history which was written in 1920. On this site he is listed as Oberst v. Linck: http://www.militaerpass.net/26rd.htm So who is correct?
arb Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Don, Otto von Linck assumed command of Inf. R. 180 (there was no RIR 180) on 27.01.1913. As you note, he was wounded (lost a leg) and was replaced on 1 Sep 1914. Andy
dond Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Thanks. Did he have a son in the same regiment?
dond Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 This is the guy: V.Feldwbl. Linck Wilh 2./180 I. Rgt.
Chris Boonzaier Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Don, As you note, he was wounded (lost a leg) Andy So we have Von Lind, von Linck and Von Limp.....
