dond
Who was the Regimental Commander at the start of the war? The unit history says it was Oberst v. Lind and normally I would go with that but the CDR was wounded in late August (officially replaced 1 Sep) so he does not feature much in the history which was written in 1920. On this site he is listed as Oberst v. Linck: http://www.militaerpass.net/26rd.htm So who is correct?
arb
Don, Otto von Linck assumed command of Inf. R. 180 (there was no RIR 180) on 27.01.1913. As you note, he was wounded (lost a leg) and was replaced on 1 Sep 1914. Andy
